My name is Shawn Gibson, and I’m the founder of Dragging Axe. Alongside my fiancé and co-owner Krystal, we’re proud Huntington Beach locals who deeply love our community.

After serving in the U.S. Army for four years, I settled in Huntington Beach in 2001. A few years ago, I suffered a major heart attack—an experience that brought me within minutes of losing my life. Moments like that change your perspective. They remind you how fleeting life is and how important it is to make every moment count.

That experience fueled our passion to create something meaningful—an experience that’s exhilarating, unforgettable, and fun. Because no matter what challenges life throws your way, we all have that one memory that can lift our spirits when we need it most. For many of our guests, it’s the moment they land their first axe throw—it’s exciting, empowering, and unforgettable.
